ABOUT JASON:
Jason Russell is a high-octane, family-friendly comedian whose electric stage presence, big characters, and rubber-faced expressions make him an instant audience favorite. Whether headlining comedy clubs, lighting up theaters, or performing for global audiences aboard cruise ships, Jason delivers a show that is clean, physical, and unforgettable. His ability to connect with crowds of all agesâwithout ever using dirty languageâhas made him one of the most versatile acts working today.
Born to a white mother and a Black father, Jason Russell jokes that he âhad to learn to be funny or fightââand comedy won out early. As a kid, Saturday nights meant family gatherings stocked with snacks and back-to-back episodes of SCTV and SNL. Mimicking the characters he saw on TV led him to invent his own voices and sketches for family and friends. By the time he discovered Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, and a young Jim Carrey on Evening at the Improv, he knew exactly what he wanted to become: a comedian.
Jasonâs first real stage moment came when he was chosen to host his high school talent show. Even though teachers forbade him from doing impressions of them, Jasonâs confidence and comfort in front of a crowd made one thing clearâstand-up was his future.
Today, Jasonâs comedy is a whirlwind of silly characters, bold physicality, and expressive storytelling. His shows are loud, lively, and clean, showcasing an energy he describes as âRichard Pryor meets Jim Carrey meets my high school gym teacher Mr. Clacus.â He never uses dirty language, making him a hit with clubs, corporate events, and family-friendly venues alike.
Jason is featured in the documentary Crossing the Lines: Interracial Comedians and stars in his own Dry Bar Comedy special, âBeige Frosty.â He also performs around the world as a featured entertainer on cruise ships for the Blackburn Agency, bringing his unique brand of humor to audiences of every background.
âIâve always had a need to make people laugh. Now that I get to do it for a living, I never take it for granted.â
